I love to talk to press about my research areas – for example, about inequality in social media labour, how influencer and digital marketing industries are developing, and how cultural producers negotiate ‘algorithms’. I’ve been on BBC Radio One Newsbeat to talk about algorithmic changes on YouTube, and was a guest on the YouTube episode of the BBC pop culture Podcast Unpopped.

I have written for Paper Magazine (where Kim Kardashian’s butt broke the internet) on influencers and beauty, two articles for The Conversation on the difficulty of making money on YouTube, and one on the gendered stereotypes amongst popular YouTubers.

I also comment frequently to press, for example the Financial Times on James Charles and BBC News on ‘feeding algorithms’.

Please get in touch for comments or collaborations.
